Gerard R. Dempsey
Chairman of the Board
Gerry Dempsey, Chairman of the Board of Batavia Enterprises, Inc., started his career with The Rouse Company, one of the largest shopping center developers in the United States. During this time, he was part of the management team of the first enclosed shopping center in Dayton, Ohio.
Mr. Dempsey then accepted the position of Director of Sales and Public Relations for the Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg, Illinois, owned and managed by The Taubman Company of Troy, Michigan and rose to the position of Assistant Shopping Center Manager. He was promoted to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where the Taubman Company had two major regional enclosed malls. Mr. Dempsey was assigned to Southridge, a regional enclosed shopping center in Greendale, Wisconsin and later became Center Manager of Northridge, a regional shopping center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
In 1980 Mr. Dempsey accepted the position of Vice President of Batavia Enterprises, Inc. In 1988, Mr. Dempsey was appointed President and in 2007 he was appointed Chairman & CEO of Batavia Enterprises, Inc.
